frequently asked questions

  • Structural Integration (SI) is a comprehensive, holistic form of hands-on bodywork developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf that works with the body's fascial network — the web of connective tissue that contains, surrounds, and connects every part of us — to restore balance, ease, and alignment in relation to gravity.

Our bodies are shaped by everything we've experienced: our movement habits and histories, injuries and surgeries, posture and patterns, even our thoughts and daily rhythms. Over time, these experiences are held in the fascia, creating compensations and tensions that affect how we move, feel, and function. Structural Integration offers a systematic way to explore and reorganize these whole-body patterns, addressing root causes rather than isolated symptoms.

Rather than targeting a specific area of pain or dysfunction, SI honors the principle of holism — the understanding that the body is more than the sum of its parts, and that lasting change comes from working with the whole system. A painful neck, a tight hip, a sense of chronic fatigue — these are often expressions of broader patterns held throughout the body. By restoring balance to the whole, relief in the parts tends to follow naturally.

SI is a collaborative process. Client and practitioner work together as equal partners, using visual, movement, and palpatory assessments to guide each session. The work may be done on the table, seated, or standing — and clients are encouraged to move, feel, and participate actively rather than passively receive. This engagement is central to how change takes root.

The work is most fully experienced as a series of 10 sessions each with a specific focus that builds on the last, gradually unwinding old patterns and inviting new ways of organizing and moving. Single sessions can also offer meaningful benefit. Advanced benefits include increased core function, cranial balance, nervous system regulation, and whole-body coherence.

SI may be a good fit if you're looking to:

    • Enhance athletic performance

    • Reduce or resolve chronic pain and tension

    • Improve posture, alignment, or body awareness

    • Recover from injury or repetitive strain

    • Feel more grounded, centered, and at home in your body

    • Explore a deeper relationship with how you move and live

  • I charge a flat rate based on length of appointments and do not charge for any add-ons.

As I am still a student of Structural Integration, I offer 10-series work at a reduced rate:

    • 80$ for a 90 minute, with a commitment to at least the first 3 sessions.

    • when I am board certified, my rates for series work will be $160 for a 90 min.

If you want a one-off treatment session, this rate is:

    • $95 (60 min)

    • $135 (90 min)

    • $165 (120 min)

If the cost of my services keeps you from booking with me, please reach out and we can collaborate on a fair price. You deserve bodywork.

I do not accept tips, as I do not want you to feel pressured to pay more than agreed upon. I have set my rates to what I believe my work is worth.

  • Yes.

Ideally, train after your treatment session. To keep your body safe and make sure the work translates to your sport/movement pattern:

    • Train within 12 hours of the treatment session

    • Stick to low intensity work or an accessory day (volume is up to you. I encourage you to choose your level of engagement with the new changes: light exploration of positioning → engrain a new pattern)

If you have a heavy training day scheduled, train before your bodywork session to minimize injury risk.

You can train heavy the day after.

  • Wear shorts or underwear along with a sports bra or tube top (if relevant to your expression). This allows me to observe and assess your posture, alignment, and movement patterns as the session unfolds.

Please do not wear any lotion or oil on your skin. Myofascial techniques are impaired by slippery skin.

Prepare to have an active session. I will be asking for movement, incorporating time off the table to feel into the work and how it landed in your body, and frequently communicating.

    • I'm currently completing a 600-hour Structural Integration program toward Board Certification (BCSI). I offer 10-series work (at a 50% discount while I complete my education) and one-off treatment sessions in a Structural Integration approach.

    • Every session is collaborative, integrating homework: corrective exercises, somatic practices, and stretches.

    • A central focus of my work is embodiment. A background studying and working in the field of Psychology grounds my trauma-informed, somatic approach.

      {Embodiment: verb // The act of expanding one’s self awareness to include the felt experience of the body, such as sensory, sensational, emotional and physical experiences, and incorporating that information into one’s overall conception and conduct of themselves, their identity, beliefs, behaviors, and ways of being.}

In our sessions, I encourage you to understand and connect with your own capacity for healing, adaptation, and growth rather than simply receive treatment. I encourage movement on the table and facilitate an awareness of your positioning, postural patterns, and movement habits.
